I started my first company in 1994 or so. I have had varying degrees of success, lost everything from Hurricane Floyd and have come full circle and sold my internet marketing company (PCSecurityShield) on Jan 1st, 2009 and now find myself unemployed again. It has been an interesting road since Sept 18th, 1999 … long and interesting.
So I sit in a big office now in a building I bought about 3 years ago deciding what is next? I don’t have the energy to start a company from scratch … been there, done that. So what is next and when will I get motivated to find out.
I have some ideas, I have some things in motion … but really I am sitting back and trying to learn to relax for a few months before I get back in the game.

I should mention that I am a Bill O’Reilly fan. I think he is bright, entertaining and somewhat (not completely) fair minded. His interview with then Senator Obama I thought was a great interview. Of course Bill thought he “got the best” of Obama … although I am not sure an interviewer is supposed to get the best of his interviewee.
So with that said, Bill was talking about gay marriage last night after California basically made gay marriage illegal again … what a cluster that is. Bill, being against gay marriage, went on a rampage about this being the right thing to do and if they don’t stop this now then before we know it people will be marrying ducks. (a moment to digest that before I continue)
Ducks Bill? Is that the only argument you have against gay marriage? The bible, sin, going to hell, not natural, disgusting …. and all you can come up with is a wave of duck/human marriages. While I disagree with all the arguments against gay marriage I just think when someone says “whats next” they have run out of things to argue. They don’t really buy into the bible component because they aren’t that religious, or they don’t really think it is disgusting because they have gay friends … they have just given up and gone with “whats next”.
If someone shows up at a courthouse and wants to marry a duck, do we think that person may have bigger issues than the legality of what he or she is trying to do?
Personally, I don’t care. My guess is that outside of Washington and talk radio/TV most Americans don’t care. I don’t care if you are gay, I don’t care if you want to get married … I haven’t had much time to think about it, but I am not really sure I care if you marry a duck — although I am not sure how the duck will give consent.
If you are against gay marriage … fine, but come up with a real argument rather than “what’s next”.
